Students Mixed Up Over PSSA Schedules

May 3rd, 2010

By Blake Baylor

Students had to make changes to study hall plans and travel routes due to PSSA testing in the library.

For the past three weeks, the schedule has been changed to cope with the juniors’ PSSA tests. Many students are not sure whether they like the changed schedule or whether they don’t like it.

Katie Finn says that she likes the schedules. She said, “It changes things up a bit. You get to see different people at different times of day.” Marisa Quiery replied by saying, “I like my schedule the way it is, and I don’t like when people throw me off.”

Teachers also have different feelings about the schedule change. There have been many teachers who have differing opinions about the schedule.  Mr. Mike Fleming sees the benefits and disadvantages of the testing schedule.

“While it’s good that the juniors are not missing first and second period everyday, it really messes with learning in other classes as well. The state has our hands tied as to how and when we can do these tests, ” Fleming stated.
