The Chicago Blackhawks celebrate an overtime goal

By Jeff Ross

Its that time of the year again, Stanley Cup finals are here. The astonishing story of the Philadelphia Flyers is now well known in the sports world. “This series isn’t going to be close,” said Junior Anthony Renz

The Flyers beat the number two seeded New Jersey devils then they were down 3-0 in the conference semi-finals against the Boston Bruins and came back and won, then Monday night they closed out a series against the red hot Montreal Canadiens. “I think the Flyers have a good chance to bring home the cup.” Said Junior Alex Smith.

The Flyers aren’t known as a high scoring team like the Pittsburgh Penguins or Washington Capitals they are more of a physical team that thrives off of momentum. “Their style of play really demonstrates Philadelphia and what their life style is.” Said Senior Sean Muffley.

The Chicago Blackhawks however are the Western Conference version of the Penguins or the Capitals. They are a high scoring team that has a very young and very talented team. They’re captain is 22 year old Jonathan Toews that shows their age, Toews is the fourth youngest captain in NHL history. The average age for the Blackhawks is 22.4 years old. They also are lead by Patrick Kane; Kane was a major component to team USA in their run for silver in the 2010 Olympics.

The Flyers have no chance against the Blackhawks, the numbers show that Chicago is going to be all over Philly and end the series in 5. That is my prediction and plus the whole town of Chicago is due. The Cubs haven’t won anything since 1908 the Bears won their last super bowl in 1985 and that is the last championship that the city of Chicago has head. They are due!
